Cheaper Alternatives to Comfortis

comfortis cheaper alternative

Comfortis for dogs and cats is one of the best flea treatment medications for both cats and dogs. While it does a great job of killing fleas and preventing infestations, it does come with a hefty price tag. Comfortis costs upwards of $100. Today’s article will cover the best cheaper alternatives to Comfortis.

Cheaper Alternatives to Comfortis

The best cheaper alternatives to Comfortis are Capster, Flea Away, and Revolution. All 3 of these alternatives cost $50 or less.

Capster

Capster is my favorite alternative to Comfortis. It only costs $37, and best of all it doesn’t require any prescription from your vet. You can buy Capster online here at Chewy.

Similar to Comfortis, Capster comes in the form of a chewable tablet that you give to your dog or cat. You can easily put it inside your pet’s food bowl and mix it with their normal food. I personally prefer tablets vs. topical solutions, because the topical solutions can get a little messy, and they usually wear off quicker.

Within 30 minutes, Capster kills around 90% of fleas that are on your cat/dog. One package of Capster comes with 6 tablets, and you can give your cat up to 1 tablet per day.

Flea Away

Flew Away is also a chewable tablet that you can give to your dog or cat to repel both fleas and ticks. While I haven’t given it to my pet before, it is the cheapest option for fleas, costing only $21 for 100 tablets.

The tablet contains a mixture of vitamins that also help your pet have a shiny coat. Additionally, flea away helps promote healthy joints.

You can give one pill per day to your pet. I recommend that you give one pill at least every other day for 30 days, or until you no longer see fleas on your pet’s coat.

Flea away also does not require a vet prescription.

Revolution for Cats and Dogs

Revolution is one of the most popular parasite treatments for dogs can cats. While Revolution is frequently used to treat heartworm, it also kills fleas in dogs and cats.

Revolution is a topical solution that you apply directly to your cat or dog’s fur. One application of Revolution will last for 30 days. You can buy a 3 dose box (which lasts for 3 months) on Chewy for $57. It is important to note that Revolution does require a vet prescription.

Where to buy Comfortis cheap?

The best place to buy Comfortis cheap is from Chewy.com. At the time of this writing, you can buy a 6-month supply of Comfortis for $105.

If you haven’t bought anything form Chewy Pharmacy before, you can get 20% Comfortis coupon by using RX20 at check out. Click here to add to your cart, and then add RX20 to the coupon box.

Conclusion

Whenever you give your pet a medication for the first time, it is important to closely monitor them for the next 24 hours. You want to make sure they do not have any allergic reaction or adverse side effects. Some of the most common side effects for flea and tick medication in pets are skin inflammation, loss of hair, and vomiting.

It is very important that you never give your cat or dog more than the instructions allow.

How to prevent your cat/dog from getting fleas?

As with most conditions, prevention is always the best option. There are plenty of flea collars for both cats and dogs which help prevent fleas from attaching to your pet in the first place.

You should also give your cat or dog a bath regularly. A good way to do this is by mixing a few drops of citrus oil to their shampoo while bathing them. This helps the dog or cat smell better while helping you get rid of fleas that may be on your pet. You can even add a small amount of peppermint oil to the mix if desired!
