What does the Walmart Pet Insurance Include?
Walmart Pet Care covers veterinarian costs for the following:
- Unforeseen accidents resulting in injury
- Illness (both chronic and hereditary diseases)
- $1,000 stipend for online meetings and appointments with a licensed veterinarian.
By signing up today, customers will save 10% on their policies. There are also more perks that come with this state of the art insurance coverage. Walmart teamed up with the popular pet care app Rover, which specializes in providing pet sitting and dog walking gigs. In an attempt to promote the partnership, Walmart is offering a $40 Walmart coupon for all of its insurance members who sign up for Rover (You receive $20 off your 1st and 5th transaction).
Walmart focusing on pet industry
Walmart pet Care is just one of the many recent steps Walmart has taken in order to position themselves as one of the leading companies in the pet care sector. In 2019, Walmart launched a pet specific pharmacy called “Walmart Petrx” which offers medications for a wide range of different pets. Between the Walmart site and Petrx, they now offer close to 2,000 specialty pet care products on their website. The new Walmart Pet Care portal will include direct access to both Walmart’s online Petrx pharmacy as well as their pet pharmacies in store. This will prove to be very beneficial, as thousands of Walmarts across the country have opened up vet clinics inside their stores over the last year.
