How long can cats hold their poop?
A professor from Cornell University of veterinary medicine named Richard Gold stein states “Cats normally move their bowels one to three times a day…depending on the type of food they eat. You should seek veterinary consultation if your cat doesn’t defecate for more than a day or two.”
That being said, cats can usually hold their poop for at least 12-18 hours

What to do if a cat has not pooped for more than two days?
If your cat has not pooped in over two days, there is a good chance he/she is constipated. Constipation occurs when bowls do not move frequently, and stool does not come out of the body daily. It may happen due to a change in nourishment or due to inadequate consumption of fiber.
Aside from an empty litter tray, a constipated cat will also visibly show difficulty when trying to poop. This usually means they will stand over the litter box but nothing will come out. They might let out a cry if they are in pain.

What to do if cat is not peeing?
If your cat is not peeing, it may be because of Lower Urinary Tract Disease. It is a condition that affects a cat’s bladder. If it is not treated, it may cause more health issues. Take a male cat to examine immediately. A female cat should be seen within 24 hours or sooner if she shows other symptoms (vomiting, lethargy, etc.)
How often do cats poop and pee?
If everything is normal, cats will pee two to three times a day and poop only once a day. The amount of urine a cat lets out depends on the amount of water and food consumed. Therefore, cats that intake dry kibble foods will visit the litter box less often.
Cat not pooping after travelling?
Cats like routine and they like it when their familiar environment doesn’t change. While traveling, a cat’s bowel movements might be affected and they might go up to 48 hours without pooping. Even if you take frequent breaks and give them their litter box, they may still refuse to pee or poop.
After you reached the destination, see if your cat poops or not. If she doesn’t, you may need to give her more time to become familiar with the environment.
However, if your cat goes 72 hours without pooping, it’s generally not a good sign. If you have a long way on the road, then take frequent breaks so that your cat has the opportunity to take care of business if he/she wants to.
