My first impression from my cats reaction to it and my review of the nutrition label, is that it is a high-quality premium-grade canned cat food and if your cat likes the taste, I think it is an excellent choice.

The American Journey Minced Poultry in Gravy Variety Pack Grain-Free Canned Cat Food consists of three different options. These include Chicken Recipe in Gravy, Turkey Recipe in Gravy, and Chicken & Turkey in Gravy Recipe. All three varieties are part of the minced variety pack and they are simmered in gravy.

American Journey uses grain-free meats and ingredients in their recipes. Each can of food is packed with nutrients like antioxidants, high-quality proteins, Omega Fatty Acids, and the protein source is always listed first. You can be sure that it contains just high-quality, nutrient-dense food ingredients.

Taste 

When you only put high-quality ingredients in your food products it goes without saying that the food should be of top-notch quality. The proof is in the pudding as the saying goes and for the most part, the reviews are quite good as far as the taste of this food. I slowly introduced the cans into my cats diet and it was adopted quickly with no hesitation.

Feeding Instructions 

Canned cat food is much different than dry food. It is important to pay close attention to how much you are giving them. It is not uncommon for cats to overeat so make sure you know the right serving size for each meal.

When it comes to introducing a canned food like this, you need to slowly ease your cat into it. We included a sample schedule that can make it easier to transition your can from its current food to the new canned food. 

First 2 days: starts off with a mix of 25% new food and 75% current food

Days 3-4: add 50% new food and reduce the current food to 50% 

Days 5-7: add 75% new food and reduce the current food to 25%

Day 8 and beyond: 100% new food as long as there has been no negative reaction

Note that canned cat food tends to be a bit on the rich side for smaller cats. This can sometimes cause them to put on extra weight. With that in mind, we also included a recommended feeding regime and it is based on your cat’s weight and maturity.
